How are you and hows training going?

George Carter Jr:

I am doing good i'm back in boxing full time after being hurt and had to take time off. I feel good and ready for anything! I haven been training for two and a half weeks and every week i am doing a bit more! my running is coming around, as well as me geting into shape.

In your opinion Who would you say if going to be the stand out at the Beijing Olympics??

George Carter Jr:

Oh let me think, the olympics, i would have to say that i have seen my guy box Rau'shee Warren i know he will get a gold medal! He as got it all. When you see him box its fun to watch! There are some others i think will do well such as Demetrius Andrade, Gary Russell Jr and Javier Molina!

How do you think you will do as a professional???, I have seen a few of your amateur tapes and you seem to have the right attributes to makes a very very good professional.

George Carter Jr:

I think as a professional i could be at the top! i say this because i live in a town of 30,000 ppl and I dont ever get to spar or do mit work! i have only spared maybe three times in the past year or so. Everyone in boxing knows that's one of the best things to do besides run. When I get the training like i should i will sure be one of the best.

Who would you say is the biggest influence on your boxing career???

George Carter Jr:

My trainer Mr. Carlos Duncan, and my city. Everyone in this town knows who I am and when they see me run or just out and about the say hi and ask how the boxing is going. Sometimes I get tired of it but its like that when you are doing the right things and not the bad things.

What is your best attribute in the ring (Power, Speed Movement etc)???

George Carter Jr:

The best attribute for me is my hand speed and movement. i got all the tools. But these two are crazy. I move alot around the ring and my hand speed is one of the fastest in my weight class. Being smart and knowing where you are at in the ring and having good brains are good 2 lol.

What is your biggest accomplishment so far throughout your career???

George Carter Jr:

Accomplishments are small at the moment but being ranked sixth in the U.S and making the nationals four or five times. i still think i could do more or maybe could have done more if i had the right trainning but as i say God has a plan for everyone.

Who and Why is the fighter you looked up to as a Kid???

George Carter Jr:

Some fighters i look up to wow um. First the best of all time Muhammed Ali. he worked so hard and it paid off. Um Floyd Mayweather, Winky Wright. These are the ones i looked up to cause they worked like no others and had to live up to there names or they came from nowhere.

Who in your opinion is the number one pound 4 pound fighter and why???

George Carter Jr:

Pound for pound is still Mayweather till someone comes and take him. He is still hands down pound for pound nomore to be said.

Who in your opinion will win the fight this saturday between Zab Judah v Joshua Clottey???

George Carter Jr:

After seening Zab in his last two or three fights I would say Clottey but Zab is my guy and he's a lefty just like me so I got to give it to him.

What are your plans for the rest of the year???

George Carter Jr:

My plans for the rest of the year would be to win win win. I want to get stronger, hands faster, smarter, and get into the best shape of my life. i am goin to do this. I plan on going pro soon so it will all help out in the long run.

I want to just say if you work hard in the gym or what ever sport you do it will pay off. it might not be today or tomorrow or even this year. But it will, just give it time and keep working "Good things come to those who wait"
